Out of love for the NEZHA film series, FOREST PAINTING LANTERN factory has collaborated with Huangshan Scenic Area Camping Base to produce a batch of large Chinese lanterns for outdoor display, featuring several key characters from Nezha 2.
These anime character lanterns, the small one like a Nezha lantern is about three meters high, the large one like Shiji lantern is about ten meters high, these giant lantern arranged on the lawn of the camping base, attracted a large number of tourists to check in and take photos.

The process of large Chinese lanterns
There usually five parts to product a traditional Chinese lantern: 1. Draw the sample pattern. 2. Weave the sample shape with bamboo. 3. Install the internal light source. 4. Cover the exterior with paper or silk, and finally paint the sample colors.
The production process of Chinese lanterns has been optimized with the development of the times. The general steps still consist of five parts, but in our lantern industry, bamboo weaving has been replaced with more durable metal welding, the internal light source has been upgraded from candles and bulbs to more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly LED lights, the covering materials have all been improved to more durable silk, and the colors have become more vibrant and fade-resistant.
For this camping base collaboration project featuring Nezha, most are giant lanterns. We adopted numerous reinforcement structures when welding the metal frames to ensure these colossal creations are sufficiently sturdy. To accurately recreate the character’s image, the artisans meticulously crafted every detail down to the curvature and spacing of each wire, limiting deviations to within millimeters.
Because the lanterns is in outdoor, in order to make these Chinese lanterns for outdoors withstand the test of wind and sun, We use silk materials that are both waterproof and sun proof for the external pasting, and sufficient flame retardant is sprayed on the silk surface. Every part of the giant lantern is secured with wind-resistant ropes. For the largest 10-meter-high Shiji Niangniang lantern set, we even poured a concrete base to ensure the smooth progress of the exhibition. We must guarantee that everything is foolproof.
